Using Genetic Algorithms with Aquator
Optimisation
Because Aquator can model real-world water resource system rules,
it is ideally suited to solving complex optimisation problems, such as derivation
of reservoir control curves using the Genetic Algorithm technique.
Genetic Algorithms require intensive computing resources to achieve
solutions in a reasonable time. Working with
the Centre for Water Systems, University of Exeter,
we have developed the system architecture illustrated below for clients in the water
industry to solve this problem. (Click on the image to display an expanded image
in a new window.)
Aquator has been successfully linked to a Multiobjective Genetic
Algorithms optimisation module that optimises reservoir control curves.
The documents listed below show examples of this technique.
